FAQ

What is the Partner Learning Center?

The Partner Learning Center (or PLC) is the premier resource for partners to find and select from a variety of local classroom training, online courses, self-study resources and more – all in one location. The information in the PLC is personalized based on the partner’s location, language, competency, partner level and role. The PLC was designed specifically for the partner community and is designed to complement the Microsoft Partner Program web site.

Who can access the PLC?
Any Microsoft Registered, Certified or Gold partner with a Live ID account that is associated with a partner company that has a completed Microsoft Partner Membership Centre profile can access the PLC. Using a guest account to access Microsoft partner training will no longer available after February 2008.

Do you have printable instructions for registering for the PLC?
Yes, please click here for step-by-step instructions to register for Partner Learning Center access.

Will there be orientation training available to learn more about using the PLC?
Yes, you can sign up for classes at http://www.msreadiness.com/newwebsitetraining. The current date to view a live orientation web seminar is 4/18/2008 or you can view the class on demand.

Where can I get help for Live ID issues (Such as changing my e-mail account to another Live ID)?
If you need assistance with your Windows Live ID please call the Microsoft Partner Membership Center help line at 1-800-688-0496 or visit the Windows Live ID Account Services site at https://partner.microsoft.com/40032577.

What if I use Microsoft Partner University (MPU) for my US partner readiness portal?
Continue to initiate your training process on the MPU training portal.  MPU will still offer the same great promotions and feature the courses most important to your partner community. Later this year, MPU will be transferring their courses to the PLC engine but your sign in and participation in promotions will start via MPU and you’ll be linked to training from there.

How do I find the PLC?
Go to https://training.partner.microsoft.com/plc/home.aspx?site=US&lang=en and you will be prompted to sign in as a partner.
Also, there are many PLC sites – in over 80 subsidiaries, localized in to 35 languages. A Global PLC site in English is at https://training.partner.microsoft.com/plc/home.aspx. The global page has a link to worldwide training sites – from that page you can access the local PLC sites in one of 35 languages.

What sort of training will I find using the Worldwide PLC?
The content varies from subsidiary to subsidiary but the US subsidiary will have access to the following categories of training:

  1. Classroom training
  2. Online Tutorials
  3. Virtual Labs
  4. Web Seminars – live and on demand
  5. Partnercasts
